Follow us around the Great Loop

Day #280 - Charleston, SC

May 7th, 2009

This morning we decided to take a historical carriage ride through Charleston.  Andy Gump looks pretty excited for the day, don’t you think!?!?!

We arrived at Palmetto Tours and Daniel was our guide and Carter and Cash our mules.  They did a fine job.

There is so much to see and learn in Charleston we just wandered through the city and took in the sights and sounds again.

The Exchange Building

Philadelphia Alley where pistol duels took place

The Oldest Building in Charleston

A cobblestone street

A courtyard fountain

A Bed and Breakfast, voted one of the Top 10 in the country.

After our tour we decided that we had worked up an appetite.  Patti suggested we go to Hyman’s, an old, well known seafood restaurant.  It was a great decision and the she-crab soup was delicious.  We walked through town a bit more and took in more sights.

Tonight we will get together and cook steaks on the grill.

I will not be “blogging” until Monday.  I received a wonderful surprise…Ryan and Devon are flying me to Boston for the Mother’s Day weekend.  They also are flying Scott in from Michigan and Devon’s mom, Dianne, will come down from Maine.  What a wonderful way to celebrate Mother’s Day and how special to all be together.  What a lucky mom I am!  Golden Moments…
