Day #127 - Ft. Myers, FL

December 5th, 2008

Had a beautiful day in Ft. Myers.  79 degrees and sunny, wow!

Andy went and picked up the rental car early.  We went to West Marine and then Deb and I went to Costco.  Great to be there again as it has been a long dry spell. Haven’t been to a Costco since I left home in August.

Came back to the boat and walked to a marina recommended restaurant down the street.  Very good salad.  Came back and got ready for dinner with Fred and Ruby Lange, sister-in-law Christine’s wonderful parents.

We drove to their condo in Ft. Myers and it is beautiful, a golf course community.  It was so great to see them.  Went to dinner at their country club and really enjoyed ourselves.  It had been too long since we had seen them, a year and a half.  They are some of our favorite people.  Came back to the marina and walked araound a bit.  Beautiful day, beautiful night and thankful for them both!

    This may make you homesick!

    Michigan POEM

    It’s winter in Michigan
    And the gentle breezes blow
    Seventy miles an hour
    At twenty-five below.
    Oh, how I love Michigan
When the snow’s up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I’ll hang around
    I could never leave Michigan
Cause I’m frozen to the ground!
