Day #123 - Cape Coral, FL
December 1st, 2008We heard the predicted rain pass through about 1:30 am. Woke up and the weather forecast was much more favorable than they had anticipated so we decided to head on to Cape Coral. What a beautiful day it has been. Clear, sunny and 75 degrees.
The areas you pass through are so scenic. Some of them are

Useppa Island

Cabbage Key

Pine Island and Sanibel/Captiva

Little Shell Island
We saw a bald eagle (too far for a picture) and many of my dolphins. There was one enormous one that followed right along side the boat for quite a way. The there was a pod of five younger, smaller looking ones. They were much more playful, jumping and flipping. If I thought it was tough to get any dolphin picture, getting them while performing is next to impossible. I will keep trying though.

Pulled into Cape Coral at about 1:30 after traveling a l ittle over 40 miles. Beautiful day and enjoying every minute…so glad we decided to venture out and the weather cooperated.

Our view most of the day from the cockpit of the boat.
Looking forward to meeting up with Vickie and Paul Christianson (aboard Freedom.) Haven’t seen them since Halloween at Demopolis. They have a condo in Cape Coral and hope to see them tonight.
