Day #110 - Carrabelle, FL
November 18th, 2008
I watched the sunrise over Apalachicola Bay at 6:30. Beautiful site as we started out across the bay to Carrabelle. Got an early start as we are traveling in fairly open waters and the winds are predicted to pick up today, up to 25 mph. Only 30 miles today so we should get settled nice and early. We have been traveling to a different port every day for seven days now and looking forward to being in one place for a couple of days.

After watching the beautiful surise we were treated to a sighting of two bald eagles soaring over the bay. A few minutes later Andy noticed them perched as shown in the picture below. Amazing site and not one you get to see often in a lifetime.

Made our way into The Moorings and are set for a day or two. Will meet this afternoon with Buddy, the guru here for the Gulf crossing. He as all of the advice to help you make your decision as to which way you want to cross. Looks like Thursday may be the best day. Will wait and see how the weather and wind develop.
