Day #104 - Orange Beach, AL
November 12th, 2008FINALLY, we are back on the water. We had the sea trial (all was well), they washed the boat for us, we paid the bill and we were off across Mobile Bay by 10:30 this morning. It is our first cloudy morning in a long time. Somehow we avoided the rain all around us today and had a beautiful crossing.
We saw quite a few shrimp boats on Mobile Bay.

38 miles, four hours and one dolphin sighting (no picture though) and we arrived at beautiful Wharf Marina.

This is quite an establishment. As our boating buddy Bob mentioned they even have a large outside bar attached to the marina office. We walked into the beautiful shopping area, thirteen restaurants, many stores and a bakery. Andy even bought himself a shirt. We walked uptown for dinner and had a fantastic meal at Villaggio.

They even have a ferris wheel.
Great to be back out on the water again and are looking forward to tomorrow when we move on to Pensacola, another short travel day. Lots to see in this area and we are looking forward to exploring.

The Wharf is great! However, our sand and beaches are some of the best in the World, don’t sell yourself short, get a look at the sand and go stick your toes in it. The Navel Aviation Museum is great in P’cola. We invite you back to come stay in our piece of Paradise a little longer when you complete this great adventure. Thanks for the blog, I enjoyed reading several of your daily postings. May you have smooth boating and no more repairs for the rest of the journay.
